Sunir is a leading Silicon Valley executive, entrepreneur and advisor in the software industry. He has over 30 years of international management and technical experience working in technology for high profile companies such as Oracle (VP Marketing and VP Global Strategy) where he was part of the Management Committee and Microsoft (Director World Wide Business Strategy) where he reported to the Office of the President. Sunir was most recently CEO of UBmatrix Inc, the creator of XBRL, the global standard for business information exchange, which was acquired by RR Donnelley (NASDAQ: RRD).
Sunir was also on the board of the XBRL US Steering Committee. He was previously co-founder and CEO of E-Stamp, credited with inventing the technology and market for Internet postage (NASDAQ: STMP), and one of the first internet payment systems. Sunir has also worked for Novell, Inc., Honeywell as well as at the European Space Agency in Europe.
Sunir has a BS (Hon) in Physics from the University of Birmingham (UK) and a MS in Computer Systems from the Cranfield Institute of Technology (UK). Mr. Kapoor is currently serving on the board of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A. (“BBVA”, NYSE: BBVA) a leading global bank. Sunir is also an advisor or board member at several growth technology companies in Europe and Silicon Valley
