Accuris Networks announced the launch of its AccuROAM-LTE platform, specifically designed for Voice over LTE services

Dublin, 18 March 2010 - Accuris Networks, an innovator in Roaming Interworking and Device Management technology, today announced the launch of its AccuROAM-LTE platform, specifically designed for Voice over LTE services. Accuris Network's solution is based on a proven roaming platform to enable a consistent user experience including voice, data, SMS and all supplementary services whether on an IP network such as LTE or existing circuit-switched 2G/3G service.

"Mobile Operators are looking to differentiate their VoIP services from the 'over the top' services available to their subscribers and the best way to do that is to offer continuity or seamless service experience between IP and Circuit switched"

The AccuROAM platform supports Single Radio Voice Call Continuity (SR-VCC), SMS over IP, circuit-switched fallback (CSFB), as well as Circuit-Switched interworking and continuity services.

As mobile operators look to LTE and IMS as key areas of network innovation and growth, they require solutions which enable quick time to market and capabilities including:

  • brokering of subscriber identity and service-profile among disparate mobile-networking environments (by interworking with HSS and other core elements to interrogate subscription and service-profile information);
  • service-translation and service-anchoring, including IN and IMS service-control;
  • interworking with packet- and circuit-switched network core elements to control secure access and implement service policy-control.

The key benefits of the AccuROAM solution are:

  • Immediate support for service continuity between circuit switched and IP services
  • Solution migrates to support full IMS anchoring for legacy roaming
  • Compliance with the One Voice initiative which provides specific, interoperable service-profile information, to make the task of delivering Voice and Messaging services, over 3G, LTE and other IP radio-access technologies, feasible and interoperable with legacy Circuit-Switched environments

"Mobile Operators are looking to differentiate their VoIP services from the 'over the top' services available to their subscribers and the best way to do that is to offer continuity or seamless service experience between IP and Circuit switched," stated Gilbert Little, Chairman of Accuris Networks. "With voice still being the key revenue generator for operators, they want to leverage their extensive circuit-switched coverage footprint, along with their new generation IP-based applications, to keep their mobile subscribers connected to the operator's applications and not just their radio access network."

With AccuROAM, an operator can launch new, innovative IP services on their LTE network while knowing their subscribers will not be stranded when they roam outside of LTE coverage and back onto 2G or 3G networks. Roaming will continue to be a major focus for operators building out LTE networks.
