Acision demonstrates breakthrough Broadband
Mobility Suite at CTIA Spring 2010 spotlighting a unique solution for
the mobile data explosion challenge
17 March 2010 - Addressing the impact of unparalleled growth in mobile data usage
on the operator community, Acision, a world leader in mobile data, today
announced that it will provide a live demonstration of its Broadband
Mobility Suite at CTIA Spring 2010 – breaking new ground in enabling
operators to gain control over their network utilization, while
simultaneously increasing mobile broadband revenue and profit per
gigabyte. Acision Broadband Mobility Suite (BMS) is one of the first
solutions to combine all of the capabilities operators need to address
today's mobile broadband challenge, such as policy management and
enforcement, web and media optimization, service allowance and bundle
management, charging, location-awareness and VAS – uniquely pairing
control and cost saving measures with the creation of revenue
generation.
"Acision is stepping forward to help operators overcome one of
the greatest challenges the mobile industry faces – the cost of managing
the growth in mobile data usage to avoid the negative impact on quality
of the user experience and inevitable data congestion, with the lagging
growth in revenue compared to the cost of serving the increased
appetite of Smartphone users for data-rich services like email, video
and social networking," said Wayne Irwin, president, North America at
Acision. "Building on our pioneering work in mobile messaging,
Acision is taking the lead in powering operator innovation and profit
growth with unique mobile data solutions like the Broadband Mobility
Suite."
The Broadband Mobility Suite demonstration will take place at
Acision's booth, 2917. Among its many features, BMS comprises of
unparalleled policy-based, rich-media optimization capabilities yielding
significant savings for operators in reducing the cost of peak capacity
provision while improving user experience. At the show, Acision's
solution will focus on service bundling options, usage control and
driving consumer behaviour, spotlighting how operators can improve their
profits by moving away from today's flat fee packages and
differentiating their offerings to meet specific customer needs. Key
elements of this live demo include:
- Full web and media optimization, delivering video at 30 – 70
percent less bandwidth while preserving quality of experience and
significantly reducing network costs
- Location packages where a specific bundle with specific QoS
applies depending on location
- Packages where members share a bundle at home but also have a
personal bundle outside their home zone
- Bundles where two devices, such as a laptop and a mobile phone
share the same package
- Day-pass pricing, showing how temporary packages can overrule
existing subscriptions, enabling the operator to provide special offers
or packages to existing customers
- Packages that exclude data-intensive applications that put
high pressure on the network, like P2P downloading
- Notifications that inform the subscriber pro-actively about
the status of their package, preventing bill shock
- Blocking access when the package is depleted, and re-directing
subscribers to top up
At CTIA Spring 2010, Acision will also showcase its spectrum of
real-time mobile data solutions – across mobile data services, mobile
data control and mobile data charging – which enable operators to
introduce new services while controlling, optimizing and monetizing data
traffic. In addition to its focus on mobile data solutions,
Acision will also showcase recent deployments and Acision Innovation
Network partnerships.
