Optical Metrology Innovations Appoints Robert Eckelmann to the Board.

Cork, Ireland, September 26, 2005

OMI today announced the appointment of Robert Eckelmann to its board of directors. Rob had an extremely successful career at Intel, holding several senior management positions including most recently Vice President and General Manager of Intel EMEA. He was also responsible for leading Intel's rapid growth in Asia in the 1990's while based in Singapore. Prior to joining Intel in 1988 he served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the International Trade Administration within the US Dept of Commerce, where he led high-tech trade policy and negotiations with countries including Japan, Korea, China, and The European Union.

He holds several non executive board directorships with high tech companies including Wolfson Microelectronics, a leading provider of mixed signal solutions for the consumer market, EVE a supplier of verification tools for the semiconductor design market, MDS a French IT services firm and IXI Mobile, a US mobile communications company.
