Press Releases Optical Metrology Innovations ships first OMISTRAIN ETR® (now renamed Equinox ETR®) to Japanese Market. Cork, Ireland, February 1, 2005 Optical Metrology Innovations Ltd. a leading supplier of advanced Semiconductor Metrology Solutions today announced the sale of OMISTRAIN ETR® to Yokohama National University. Yokohama's Associate Professor Qiang Yu chairs the consortium of the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers for reliability and thermal management of electronic packaging. The consortium members include forty-five (45) leading manufacturers of Integrated circuits, electronic packaging and materials. The sale to Yokohama enables the consortium members to gain access to OMISTRAIN ETR® for testing and evaluation purposes. The OMISTRAIN ETR® is a thermal deformation metrology system operating over the temperature range -65oC to +350oC. The extended operating range enables measurements to be made at the higher reflow temperatures as required by lead free packaging. It also enables sub zero temperature measurements for markets such as automotive and military.
